      "Go live" checklist

Ready to go live with your Poll? We recommend reviewing the following list before launching and double-checking if you have:

      • All images uploaded are the correct dimensions. Export image files in 2x to ensure none of the images appear pixelated.
      • Added all your poll questions (including imagery where possible).
      • All your result screens are set up with imagery and copy.
      • If you are using videos in the questions, ensure you have uploaded or copied and pasted the correct video/URL. You can play the video in the preview section to check if it is the correct video.
      • If you have added a Bridge screen, check if you have uploaded an image or a video with a description to explain the content.
      • If you have a competition and a data capture attached:
        • All your communications (Registration, Winner/s, Everybody Else) are fully set up and ready to send.
        • You have hyperlinked your T&C's to the opt-in-field, which is created in the data capture section of the settings tab.
        • Ensure your Prizes and the awarding rules are set up correctly. If you have Live prize awarding as your award, make sure you enable this feature, you can see how to do so here.
        • If you are using coupons, make sure the coupons created are set up correctly. Check the coupon limits are set, the copy for each screen is right and you have linked the appropriate coupons to your communications.

Then you're ready to go live!

      FAQ

What's the difference between a Poll and a Multi-poll card?

These two cards are essentially the same. The only major difference is that the Multi-poll Card allows you to ask multiple poll questions as opposed to just one.

Can I attach a competition to these cards?

Yes, you can. Every card in the Komo platform allows you to add a competition in the form of a data capture to it. Click here to learn how to set up a competition.

How do I view a user's response to my poll?

If you have added a data capture to the poll, you'll be able to view your entries by clicking on the card's 'settings' and then 'entries'. For a more in-depth view of the entrant's responses simply download the .csv by clicking 'download as CSV' and opening the document in Excel or Numbers.

Tip: With or without a data capture added to your card you can head to the analytics tab of any card to see a high-level overview of the responses to the various options on your card.

      Top tips

      • Add a cover image and imagery to your answers. This makes the poll look more appealing and not so text-heavy on the Hub.
      • Have the answers displayed in a grid layout so the images for each answer are larger and more visible.
      • If you create a Multi-poll, add a Bridge screen to promote a product or service.
      • Turn on Data Capture to view users' responses to your poll. Here you will be able to view who voted for what.
      • Set up coupons for on-form registrations. Give out coupons for those who take part in the Poll in the communications section.
      • Ask interesting and fun questions! Spark debates, gather insights on things you are curious about e.g. Does pineapple belong on pizza?, What do you put on top of your Christmas tree? etc.
